Web publishing checklist

Include the white wordmark on maroon background at the top of Web pages; see Graphic Standards, Template Section and Coding Comments, and U Web Policies. This graphic comes with the template downloads.
Include the equal opportunity statement, copyright, date of last revision, and link to U privacy statement in the footer; see Template Section and Coding Comments and U Web Policies. This information is all included in the template downloads.
Test and validate your Web pages on various browsers and platforms, and use HTML and CSS testers; see Testing and Validation.
Make sure your pages are accessible; see Accessibility.

Change/update meta tags.
Make sure you have "alt" description text for all images.
Update the information for the print style sheet if using it (recommended). If you're not using it, the code in the templates can be removed.
Make sure all your coding is XHTML; see Resources for more information.
Test your code for HTML and CSS errors.
Test your site on various platforms and browsers.
Check the eCommunication Standards site for any code updates before launching your site.

Mass e-mail must be sent as multipart (HTML and text) or text only; see Message Coding.

Include "University of Minnesota" in text at the top of text e-mail parts; see Text Standards.
Include an opt-out link when applicable; see Mailing Lists.
Include name and address of sending unit; see Mailing Lists.
Use tables for layout of HTML e-mail; see Message Coding.
Use inline styles to style text in HTML e-mail; see Message Coding.
Message width for HTML e-mail should be 500 to 650 pixels; see Message Size.
