The Web templates help units quickly and easily comply with the University of Minnesota's Publishing Information on the WWW policy. In addition, the templates have been carefully developed in consultation with the University's Computer Accommodations Program to help ensure compliance with the University's Accessibility of Information Technology policy.

The copyright statement appears on the left side of the template footer. The date of the copyright should be the date of first publication of the site, not the date the page was last modified. A site's copyright statement should reflect a range of dates as time goes by (e.g., 1999-2008).

All University Web sites must include a way to contact the unit that publishes the site. This can be done a number of ways—through a contact form or a link at the bottom of each page.
